Use of Chinese Manufactured CCTV Equipment
In recent years, and particularly during 2023, there has been some negative press surrounding the use of Chinese manufactured CCTV equipment in particular HIK Vision and Dahua.
Videcom Security Ltd enjoy a productive relation both with HIK and Dahua through their UK offices and continue to recommend the use of these products within certain vertical markets in which we operate. Typically our sectors include Public Space and Safer Streets, Industry, Health & Education.
We do not recommend or promote the use of any non-UK brand of products for use in any UK National Government, UK Utility or UK Military sites and in these instances work with the customer to find the best solution to meet their needs.
The risks and vulnerabilities with IP CCTV systems is not limited to products from any particular country and the cybersecurity implications are no less important no matter which equipment is deployed. We are happy to provide advice and support to our customers should they have any concerns. The Dahua Cybersecurity Center (DHCC) was established to solve cybersecurity issues and aims to provide more robust and secure products/solutions.
