I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you formally for Videcom’s huge contribution towards the delivery of the Safer Streets project in Lincoln. I know that this has involved considerable efforts on the part of you personally and your team.
I am very happy with the increased CCTV coverage that is now available to us, the improvements to the servers and the new and improved ways of presenting the ‘back wall’. These improvements are already having an impact, and will help make our CCTV service even more flexible, responsive and effective, across the city and especially in the four wards that have been the focus of the project.
The Safer Streets initiative was developed with a central theme of improving safety in public spaces, and the great coverage we now have in these four wards will no doubt make the routes between city centre, universities and residential areas safer for all.
I am very aware of the relatively short timeline that was attached to this project, and I am grateful that you worked closely and collaboratively with my team to deliver quality outcomes, to budget and to the deadline.
Your positive, responsive and flexible approach made a huge difference and contributed significantly to the success of the project.

We had a distraction theft in the City Centre of an elderly male by 2 females. The operator has managed to identify the offenders coming out of the coffee shop and has worked hard to put them in a vehicle – giving us the index which then meant we could add a marker.
The vehicle was stopped in neighbouring town on the way back to London with 2 arrested and we even managed to find £1,600 hidden in one of the females clothing who then made full admissions.

I just wanted to give some feedback on the recent CCTV installation at Three Rivers House.
This was well planned. Your engineers were prompt and courteous throughout the installation. I was kept informed of progress and communication was excellent.
They worked in a tidy manner and left everywhere clear when finished. The end result is just what we wanted. Handover of the system was excellent and a few small snags immediately resolved. It was a pleasure to work with them.

Over the weekend I was the Parks police control room manager for the annual borough Fireworks display.
On Saturday we had over 50,000 visitors and on Sunday 38,000, CCTV was vital to the success of the event, it was used to provide critical information of crowds, pinch points, traffic flow and incidents.
On Sunday, 7th Nov I discovered that the whole of the CCTV system was down and the software indicated no network.
I logged a call with Videcom Security out of hours service and subsequently I wanted to bring to your attention my gratitude to your call engineer.
The engineer called me directly, kept me informed and resolved the issue within a few hours much to the relief of Event control which comprised of elements from Police, London Ambulance, Health & Safety, Event security, Fireworks and production.
I can’t emphasise enough how much of a pivotal role those camera’s were and how they influenced decision making, which, at times were critical so your engineers efforts were greatly appreciated by all.

After being supported with camera choice and location choice by Danny Harsley and the team at Videcom Security Ltd, Safer Neighbourhoods installed 4 new HD IP 4G Enabled Rapid-Deployment cameras in a host of hotspot areas.
The cameras have in the last four weeks had a huge impact and due to their superior image quality and we have been able to identify and take action against assaults, nuisance motorbikes, drug dealing and early identification of potential victims. Feedback from the community has been an increased feeling of safety and increased confidence in reporting crime and disorder issues.

Ipswich Borough Council (IBC) recently had a speaker system installed at two CCTV camera sites where low level anti-social behaviour is being experienced. The system was supplied and installed by Videcom Security Ltd and has already proven effective, however, to improve our ability to communicate with members of the public on site, IBC made a further request to allow us the ability to relay pre-recorded messages in multiple languages. It was essential that this system could link with our existing Dahua DSS software which meant that Videcom were required to build an audio file playing programme from scratch.
The new software was developed, supplied and tested in a timely and professional manner and, despite our requirements evolving during the course of the build, Videcom were able to adapt and improve the software to incorporate the additional functionality that we needed. In fact, the system now has functionality beyond what was originally specified which will allow us to develop how we use the system in the future.
Videcom Managers and Engineers were available throughout the build and installation process to provide support and technical advice and, once installed, they delivered comprehensive training to ensure our confidence in using the system.
Post installation, Videcom continue to make themselves available for support whenever required and camera operators are using the system confidently and effectively.

We had a look at the system, the installation and the Dahua cameras with your engineer yesterday. We are very pleased with it indeed and its very very neat job that was also delivered ahead of schedule and under difficult and challenging circumstances.
No snags identified, just a couple of small adjustments to the static cameras.

Awarded to Jason Farmer and his CCTV Team: Jason and his team of operators deliver an outstanding service to St Albans Police, working alongside us and supporting during ongoing incidents - pointing us into the right direction, or by working hard to prepare discs for viewing and dissemination.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for Jason and his team when it comes to the support they give us and to dedicate this award to them allows us to say ‘thank you’ – a word we probably don’t say enough!
