Tendered Design
British Steel Redvision X-Series PTZ
Videcom Security successfully tendered and was awarded the prestigious CCTV installation for British Steel Scunthorpe Brigg Road site, to supply and install an all new full HD CCTV & digital recording solution, including a brand new control room, video wall and furniture.

Videcom's design was based on their tried and tested product partners.

  • Redvision Rugged IP HD PTZ Cameras.
  • Dahua Full HD Static Bullet Cameras.
  • Dahua 24-7 video display monitors.
  • Luxriot Enterprise EVO Global.
  • Intech Furniture.
  • SilverNet Wireless PtP Links.

  • The sites complex layout and its various high hazard manufacturing facilities needed a special camera to ensure 24-7 operation and low life cost of the system. The IP 68 sealed dome design of the Redvision was deemed ideal for such a site, with the wiper option reduction maintenance time and cost.
    Luxriot & Redvision
    Luxriot & Redvision ONVIF Integration
Luxriot EVO Global, with a dedicated Videcom VNR XEON server was supplied to provide recording initially for up to 100 cameras, the recording server was installed into a new equipment room and Videcom engaged Intech Solutions to provide a new control room furniture fit out and lighting including a monitor wall ready to accommodate a new Dahua 42 inch 24/7 video wall driven through the EVO system.

With Luxriots wide camera integration options Videcom deployed the Redvision cameras on many of their CCTV installation sites over the years and have not only found them to be reliable but the ease of installation & configuration ensured the Redvision was the choice camera for British Steel.

During the tender process it was decided by the customer that an IR option would be the preferred choice, this is a simple upgrade on the Redvision along with an option for white or indeed dual lighting configuration.

Where static cameras needed to be installed Videcom turned to another of their product partners Dahua and installed Dahua Bullet cameras into the less harsh environments.
    A word from our customer
    Redvsion IP Camera
The installation of the system along with the new control room itself was all meticulously planned and executed with very minimum fuss. Upon completion of the installation and commissioning of the new Control room, I met with Danny and he was able to show me the basic functions and explain how the system works plus its benefits for our individual requirements. The system itself is very user friendly and is one that lends itself to the principles of 'trial and error'. Quite simply, the operator spends time using the system and by means of trying the functions, they quickly build up a knowledge base that becomes repetitive and so the longer they use the system the easier it becomes. We are having our shift supervisors use the system at this stage. Three out of the four of those using the system have never used a CCTV system before so were completely new to the functions and capabilities of the new equipment. They were all able to quickly grasp the basic skill set and have since all progressed to be able to use the system with ease. They are regularly reviewing play-back recorded evidence of events and by doing so aiding other areas of the business such as the asset protection team with their enquiry. they are able to view the site in it's entirety and have each set up their own video-walls which they are now accustomed to.

John Crowston- Britsh Steel, Security & Fire Prevention Manager

I feel that Videcom were approachable through-out the initial survey stages and that Danny in particular was always available to answer questions and concerns and obviously has a vast knowledge of both the systems used and protocols adhered to.

Danny gave very useful technical and practical advice on choosing the best type of camera and the best positioning of the cameras to obtain the best coverage off the British Steel site.
